MEET…Cory Marks

What’s your favorite kind of sandwich?
Turkey/chicken club!

The Beatles or Elvis? Why?
I really love them both. The Beatles for their songs and time but then Elvis for his charisma, style, and
energy.  They both had very unique voices and styles!

Lyrics to live by?
“I’ll just dream and keep on being the way I am.” – Merle Haggard.

“Desert Island” album?
My music varies so much… off the top of my head, 2112 by Rush.

What country music artists do you listen to the most?
Merle Haggard

How would you describe your “sound?”
My sound is country/rock, like mixing Merle Haggard, Eric Church, and Ozzy Osbourne.

What was it like working with Mick Mars on “Outlaws & Outsiders?”
It was incredible to know he not only loved the song and what it stood for but wanted to be part of it!

Where do you see your musical career in 5 years?
I’d love to be touring on a global scale in arenas and auditoriums and being able to sell out each seat.

Are there any instruments you don’t play but wish you did? Why?
I wish I could play steel guitar, piano, and fiddle. I just think they’re such cool and unique instruments.
I love their sound and what they can bring to a song.

What was the best advice you have received?
The best advice was probably from my Mom & Dad at a young age. Their advice was to always be kind
and respectful, but don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself!

What advice would you give to yourself at the start of your musical career?
Trust the process and take it day by day. Don’t look too far ahead; just keep working hard

Where does most of your inspiration come from?

What do you consider to be your biggest achievement in your career so far?
“Outlaws & Outsiders” going Top 10 on US rock radio. This gave Travis Tritt his first hit at rock radio
and made me the first and only Top 10 Canadian Country artist at US rock radio and #3 in Germany.
Also, the album being a Top 5 record on a global scale its first week of release. Another was flying with
the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and playing their end of season party that same year in 2017.

What’s on the horizon for you that you would like to share?
