The new single out now by Reckless Kelly is titled “I Only See You With My Eyes Closed”.
The guitars remind me of U2’s The Edge. They fit right in with the “wide” sound of the song that leaves a lot space, much like many of U2’s epic songs. I love that.
The vocals are perfectly gritty and keep the song grounded in Reckless Kelly territory. Is rock? Is it country? Is it Americana? The answer is: Yes.
Reckless Kelly has such a well-developed, full sound that manages to come off as honest. Their new double album titled American Jackpot/American Girls comes out on May 22nd. If the new single is any indication I think we’ll be getting a ton of great material!
