Southern Caliber at the Water Wheel

On September 12th I had the pleasure of seeing a band that I really enjoy and, for once, in my general area! If you live in Southern California and frequent any of the local bars you may have heard of them, Southern Caliber. They play everywhere and have to be one of the hardest working bands I know, getting out there at least a few times a week.

The venue was a country bar in Norco called Water Wheel. Now if you know anything about Norco then  you known its “cow town”. This is little town that doesn’t make one night a week “country night” because every day is the country life out there. Like many of the shops and stores this venue had horses hitched up right outside. Oh, and the Boot Barn is next door. I would have gone in but it was closed.

This was the third time I’ve seen Southern Caliber on stage doing what they do best. One thing I love about country music is that it has a special indicator that you can use to gauge if the crowd it really into the music or not, and that is the line dancing. This band never fails to get people on their feet. They know what dances go with the songs, call them out and count them off.

I’d also like to add that Southern Caliber performs Kip Moore’s hit “Beer Money”. I’ve seen Kip live and Southern Caliber does it better.

Southern Caliber plays current country music hits and if you catch one of their shows make sure you listen for their new, original song.
