Here’s our Getting to Know…SaraBeth Q and A:
What’s your favorite kind of sandwich?
Grilled cheese hands down. I love it with tomato soup!
The Beatles or Elvis? Why?
My cousin is going to kill me for saying this…but The Beatles. I love the musicality and the risks they took with their music.
What country music artists do you listen to the most?
I like to a lot of Leah Turner and Dan and Shay at the moment.
How do you see country music evolving within 10 years?
It’s hard to tell! I definitely didn’t see the rap collaborations coming! I think we could see a big shift back to a more traditional sound, especially with someone like Garth Brooks coming back to the mix.
Are there any instruments you don’t play but wish you did? Why?
Guitar. I only play 3 chords, so that’s limiting (I don’t count 3 chords as playing an instrument). I play piano, but it’s a lot harder to travel with a keyboard. You can take a guitar anywhere.
When writing songs where do you find your inspiration?
I find the inspiration from life! It could be talking to a friend, something that happened to me, or watching a movie and something hits me. I really never know, that’s why I keep my journal handy all the time!
What do you consider to be your first big break in your career so far?
Hmm…I think it was a combination of things. Hitting the Top 40 on the Music Row chart brought a lot of good things. Going on tour with Lonestar was a big growing experience on the touring side of things, and playing the City of Hope celebrity softball game was great too.
What’s on the horizon for you that you would like to share?
Well…I just came out with a new EP, “Obsessive”, so I’ll be touring the US and UK to promote that. I have a single, “Nowhere With You”, currently on the radio charts, and as crazy as it is since I just released new music, I’m going into the studio!
